Picking Your Competitive Event



Once you've selected your event, fill out the "Pick Your DECA Competition" form for your teacher.
Performance Indicators (PIs)-the key to it all
A performance indicator is used to measure and evaluate knowledge of a specific skill. In a singing competition, the judge would use performance indicators such as: pitch, range and song choice to evaluate the competitor. In a DECA competition, the judge uses both general and specific business and marketing skills as performance indicators to evaluate the competitor. Find your event name, then click the arrow on the right to find other samples.
Read your role play including the procedures, performance indicators and situation/problem. On a sheet of paper, write down your performance indicators leaving space to come back and write your thoughts on each PI. Now, apply the PIs to the situation/problem.
