HOW TO BRING DECA TO YOUR CAMPUS
Thank you for your interest in bringing DECA to your school. Below are the steps for starting a new chapter in Louisiana DECA.

one
STEP ONE - CONFIRM THAT YOUR CAMPUS MEETS LOUISIANA DECA REQUIREMENTS
Those recognized as ACTIVE MEMBERS of the high school division of this organization shall be students enrolled in a high school Marketing Education Program as approved by the State of Louisiana. Students enrolled in non-cooperative education Marketing Education courses, including preparatory courses and related marketing education courses, or those students with a career interest in marketing, management, or entrepreneurship or in a leadership-type career shall be ACTIVE MEMBERS of Louisiana DECA.
STEP TWO - COMPLETE THE ONLINE CHAPTER REQUEST

Visit the web site below, click on 'First Time Chapter Membership' and enter your campus' information. You will need the following:

Make the following selections:

Student Password - Choose something you can share with your students, they will need this to access their student log-in

THREE
STEP THREE - APPROVAL PROCESS
Once Louisiana DECA has received your new chapter request, you may be contacted to confirm information about your chapter, course offerings for your campus, and to ensure that you as an advisor and our students meet all requirements per the Louisiana DECA Constitution & Bylaws.

In the meantime, we recommend that you review DECA's New Advisor Resources, Advisor Professional Learning, Chapter Strategy, and Digital Classroom Resources.

STEP FOUR - LET'S GET STARTED
Once approved, you and your students will be ready to get the most out of DECA. You will be connected with your State Officers, who will update you throughout the year on all activities.

You will also receive an email from National DECA's New Advisor Coordinator, as well as a new chapter packet in the mail delivered to your campus. This packet will include the DECA Guide, Competitive Events posters, Join/Membership posters, as well as additional resources to help get you started.
​
You will be added to our Statewide and District distribution lists to ensure that you are kept up-to-date on the exciting activities happening throughout the Great State.
